UNEXPECTED VISIT

Autumn has invaded my garden
Without asking, only because it's time
To spread out in my porch
Her dead leaves, everything in return
                For shorter days.

Hardworking, as always,
Autumn coppers in the vineyard
The leaves, while grapes without protest
Take the known road
                To the wine presses.

The neighboring apple tree is empty:
No fruits, just some leaves -
And the poplar trembles softly
Ashamed to the clouds
               With empty branches.

And look, just like that,
Is another rug in the garden:
Yellow-brownish leaves,
Under Daisies on the flower-bed,
              Lie huddled.

And above that, stand proud
Flowers of a soft color
Small Dahlias and Begonias,
Asters is the herald of
              The times to come.

A very blonde curly Dahlia
Lovely looks to the Chrysanthemums,
Gladiolus from the round flower bed
Show here and there
               A dried leaf.

I sit at the table with the wind -
He unfolds my book pages
My thoughts are in a trance:
Is beautiful, to my surprise,
              This autumn.
